There are now over 3000 coronavirus cases in Canada and 30 deaths

There are now over 3,000 cases of coronavirus in Canada and there have been 30 deaths linked to the virus, as of March 25.

Quebec has 1,339 cases, Ontario has 688, British Columbia has 617, Alberta has 358, Saskatchewan has 72, Nova Scotia has 68, Newfoundland has 67, Manitoba has 35, New Brunswick has 26, P.E.I has three, Yukon has three, and the Northwest Territories has one.

More than 1,000 new cases have been reportedsince Monday.

Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tamrevealed that more than 50 per cent of COVID-19 cases in Canada are now linked to community spread rather than travel.

Government officials continue to emphasize the importance of social distancing to flatten the curve of COVID-19. Trudeau even enlisted the help of Canadian celebrities such as Ryan Reynolds, Seth Rogen and Michael Bublé to help spread the word.

Despite their urgent messaging, one in five Canadians still maintain that the coronavirus pandemic is being “blown out of proportion” — a dangerous belief that could be contributing to the growth in cases.

Niagara Falls was lit up with hearts to spread some love during this difficult time, and people in Vancouver continue to cheer for healthcare workers from their balconies as they walk home from their shifts at 7 p.m. each evening.
