Ontario’s Stage 3 Opening This Friday Will Include Gyms, Bars & Movie Theatres

Ontarians, get ready to see parts of the province return to normal this Friday. In a press conference on Monday, Doug Ford announced that multiple areas will be entering stage three in Ontario. Some businesses that will be allowed to open under these new rules include gyms, bars and dine-in restaurants.

In the press conference, Ford confirmed that, as of 12:01 a.m. on Friday, 24 regions will be able to enter the next stage of Ontario’s reopening plan.

However, Toronto, York, Peel, Durham, Niagara, Windsor, Norfolk, Halton, Hamilton, and Lambton will still be staying in stage two for the time being.

Those entering stage 3 will be able to open almost every business in the area.

This includes dine-in restaurants, bars, movie theatres and gyms.

Live shows, casinos, team sports and live sporting events will also be included.

Playgrounds, personal care services, and tours can also open their facilities.

Despite the new rules, outdoor public gatherings will be limited to 100 people, while indoor gatherings will not be able to exceed 50.

Residents will still need to continue to practice social distancing to help keep their social bubbles safe

“Our success in reducing the spread of COVID-19 and getting Ontario to a place where we are ready to reopen most of the province is a testament to the hard work of business owners, individuals and families right across the province,” Ford stated in a press release.

However, there are some venues that will have to remain closed.

The government of Ontario has announced that amusement parks, water parks, buffets and saunas will not yet be able to open.

Dancing in bars and restaurants is also still prohibited unless done by hired performers.

Private karaoke rooms, overnight summer camps, and table games at casinos will also need to remain closed.

The government has announced that at the beginning of each week they will reassess COVID-19 trends in each region to decide whether restrictions need to be loosened or tightened.
