Montreal woman claims city snowplow deliberately blocked her in

A Montreal woman claims she was intentionally blocked in by a municipal snowplow worker.

After the city endured almost 40 cm of snow throughout the week, Vanessa Brott said she was attempting to get her car out of a snowbank when a plow, clearing the sidewalk, approached her on avenue de Kent in Côte-des-Neiges.

My tires were spinning and I was stuck,” Brott told Daily Hive. “I was going to my porch to grab some salt so I could get by – I mentioned to him [the driver] that he could go around. He accused me of lying and said I was trying to be difficult.”

Brott says she told the driver that digging herself out in the first place is a difficult manoeuvre and takes time, she recommended he moved around her car if he was in a rush.

“As you can see in the video, he backs up and collects as much snow as possible, in the most obnoxious way, to pile around my car, as close as he could get.”

According to Brott, her neighbour was also backing her claim that her wheels were spinning and that her car couldn’t move. They both asked for patience but “he didn’t seem to care.”

“It was really insane, I was really shook up,” concluded Brott. “I do feel grateful that we had the cameras.”

Brott says she received a call from Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Mayor Sue Montgomery and that officials are investigating the incident.

The video of the incident has since been removed from social media.
